Welcome to Currency.Wiki. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Currency.Wiki website, Chrome Extension, and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by CurrencyWiki Technologies LLC. By using our Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Currency.Wiki, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email, notice in the extension, or posting on our website. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
Age Requirement
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EU) to use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Currency.Wiki provides currency conversion services through:

- Real-time currency conversion in popup
- In-page price detection and conversion

- Financial site protection (privacy-by-default blocklist + user blocklist + time-limited unblock)
Important Disclaimer
Exchange rates are for informational purposes only. Rates may not reflect real-time bank rates and do not include fees or spreads. We are NOT a financial institution. Do not use our rates for actual transactions without verification.
3. Account Registration
You may use basic features without an account. Premium features require Google Sign-In.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate information
- Keep your account secure
- Not share your account with others
- Not create multiple accounts to abuse free tier limits
- Notify us immediately of unauthorized access
4. Email Communications
By creating an account, you agree to receive certain email communications from us.
5. SMS/Text Message Communications
Currency.Wiki Support SMS Program: When you send an SMS to our support number (858) 240-8584, you consent to receive automated text message replies related to your inquiry.
Program Description
This program sends automated SMS responses to customers who contact Currency.Wiki support. Messages may direct you to submit a support ticket via the Currency.Wiki user dashboard or provide brief support information.
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies. You will typically receive 1-3 reply messages per inquiry. We do not send unsolicited or recurring marketing messages via SMS.
Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details regarding any charges for sending or receiving text messages.
Opt-Out Instructions
You may opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will receive a one-time confirmation message and no further messages will be sent. Reply STOP at any time to cancel.

Supported Carriers
Our SMS program is supported on all major US mobile carriers. T-Mobile is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
No Sharing of Mobile Information
Your mobile phone number, SMS content, and opt-in data will NOT be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We only use this information to respond to your support inquiries.
6. Subscription Plans and Billing
We offer multiple subscription products. You may subscribe to one or more independently. Current pricing is available on our pricing page.

- Subscriptions are independent - canceling one does not affect others
You may cancel any subscription at any time via Dashboard > Billing. Access continues until the end of your billing period.
Refund Policy:
All subscription plans include a 3-day free trial so you can evaluate the service before being charged. Fees are generally non-refundable, except where required by applicable law.
- Subscriptions: Subscriptions (monthly or annual) are generally non-refundable after the trial ends and billing begins, except where required by law.
- Credit Packs: Credit pack purchases are non-refundable once purchased, except where required by law.
- Cancellation: You can cancel anytime during your trial to avoid being charged. After cancellation, you retain access until the end of your billing period.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
Technical Abuse:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
- Circumvent usage limits or access controls
- Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Attempt unauthorized access
Misuse:
- Use for illegal purposes
- Violate applicable laws or regulations
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Collect information about other users
Commercial Abuse:
- Resell or redistribute the Service
- Use to build a competing product
- Scrape exchange rate data without permission
Abuse of limits may result in account suspension or termination.
8. Intellectual Property
Currency.Wiki, including its code, design, logos, and content, is owned by CurrencyWiki Technologies LLC and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

You retain ownership of content you create (custom rates, exported files). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your content to provide the Service.

10. News Aggregation & RSS Feeds
Currency.Wiki aggregates finance news from publicly available RSS feeds provided by third-party publishers.
Publicly Available Feeds Only
We only index and display content from RSS feeds that publishers have made publicly accessible on the internet. We do not access paywalled, private, or restricted content. RSS feeds are a standard web technology that publishers use to distribute their content for syndication.
Attribution & Links
All aggregated articles include clear attribution to the original source and link directly to the publisher's website. We do not host or reproduce full article content—only headlines, summaries, and metadata as provided in the RSS feed.
Feed Removal Requests
If you are a publisher and wish to have your RSS feed removed from our aggregation:
- Submit your request via email to [email protected]
- Use an email address from your organization's domain (the same domain as the RSS feed)
- Include the specific RSS feed URL(s) you want removed
- Provide your name, title, and authorization to make this request on behalf of the organization
Requests from free email providers (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.) or unverifiable sources will not be processed. This policy protects publishers from unauthorized removal requests and helps us verify the legitimacy of each request.
Valid removal requests are typically processed within 5 business days.
Publishers can also prevent indexing by configuring their robots.txt file or RSS feed settings to disallow aggregators.
11. Cloud Storage Integration
You may optionally connect cloud storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, Box) to save Smart Scan exports and converted document outputs.
Your Responsibilities:
- Managing your cloud storage space
- Deleting files you no longer need
- Understanding your provider's terms and limits
Cloud storage is a convenience feature. We do NOT guarantee saves will succeed. Always verify important files.
By connecting, you authorize us to create a "Currency.Wiki" folder and save files when you click Save.
We use restricted API scopes that only allow access to files we create. We CANNOT access your other files.
12. AI Smart Scan Feature
AI Smart Scan uses artificial intelligence to extract and convert prices from web pages.
- 1 The extension extracts relevant visible page content (such as product names, prices, and nearby context)
- 2 Page content is sent to our servers, then processed using Google's Gemini AI
- 3 AI identifies products and prices and may include product links when available
- 4 Results are displayed in the extension and/or a results view
- 5 By default, Smart Scan results are not stored on our servers (unless you export or save them)
Accuracy
AI may miss, misidentify, or incorrectly parse prices, product names, currencies, or links. Always verify important results. Do not rely on scans for financial decisions.
Privacy
Do not scan pages containing sensitive personal information. Text from the page is processed by Google's AI.

THE AI SMART SCAN FEATURE USES ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TO DETECT AND EXTRACT PRICES FROM WEB PAGES. AI DETECTION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY.
- We do NOT guarantee that all prices on a page will be detected
- We do NOT guarantee that detected prices are correct
- We do NOT guarantee accurate product identification, currency detection, or links
- Results may vary based on page structure, dynamic content, and formatting
YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING ALL DETECTED PRICES BEFORE MAKING ANY DECISIONS. Do not use AI-detected prices for purchasing decisions, price comparisons, or any financial purpose without independent verification.
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY ERRORS, OMISSIONS, OR INACCURACIES IN AI-DETECTED PRICES, or any financial losses resulting from reliance on such data.
Important
Scan results are temporary. They exist only in your browser until you export or save them. We cannot recover lost results.
AI Smart Scan Credits:
See our pricing page for current credit amounts. Credits reset monthly. Unused credits do not roll over.
Credit Usage for Failed Scans
When AI Smart Scan finds no products on a page, credits are handled as follows:
No Credit Charged:
- Scans that return zero products do NOT consume credits (up to daily limits)
- You may retry scans up to 3 times per domain per day without credit charges
- You may have up to 10 total failed scans per day across all domains without credit charges
Credit Charged:
- After exceeding daily failed scan limits, scans consume credits regardless of results
- This protects against abuse while ensuring legitimate users are not penalized for occasional scanning issues
Best Practices:
- Smart Scan works best on product listing pages with visible prices
- Pages with image sliders, carousels, or dynamically loaded content may yield fewer results
- Scroll to ensure products are visible on screen before scanning
Failed scan limits reset daily at midnight UTC. We reserve the right to adjust these limits to prevent abuse.
13. Document Converter Feature
Document Converter uses AI to detect and convert currency values in uploaded documents (PDFs and images). It can also translate documents into 70+ languages.
- 1 You upload a document containing currency values
- 2 Our servers extract text and send it to Google's Gemini AI
- 3 AI identifies currency amounts and converts them to your target currency
- 4 Optionally, AI translates the document into your selected language
- 5 A converted document is generated for download
- 6 Original uploaded files are deleted after processing completes
Accuracy
AI-based conversion may not detect all currency values, especially in complex layouts, handwritten text, or low-quality scans. Always verify converted documents.
Formatting
Original document formatting may not be perfectly preserved. Complex layouts, images, and special formatting may be affected.
Size Limits
Maximum file size and page limits apply based on your plan.

YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING ALL EXTRACTED DATA BEFORE USE. Do not use AI-extracted data for accounting, tax filing, legal proceedings, or any purpose requiring accuracy without independent verification.
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY ERRORS, OMISSIONS, OR INACCURACIES IN AI-EXTRACTED DATA, or any damages resulting from reliance on such data.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

- Accuracy of document conversions
- Uninterrupted or error-free service
- Compatibility with your system
- Security (despite our best efforts)
- Fitness for a particular purpose
EXCHANGE RATES ARE FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. Rates may differ from actual bank/transfer rates. Rates do not include fees. We are not responsible for financial losses. Verify rates with your financial institution.
As a privacy-by-default measure, the extension is designed to avoid running Smart Scan and in-page detection on many financial and government websites by default. You can also add sites to your own personal blocklist at any time. If you choose to temporarily unblock a site, the unblock is time-limited (e.g., 15, 30, or 60 minutes) and the block is re-enabled automatically. If you use the extension on financial websites (by temporarily unblocking), you do so at your own risk.
15. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
- Damages from reliance on exchange rates
- Damages from reliance on converted documents
- Loss of uploaded or converted files after retention period
- Issues arising from third-party services
- Unauthorized access to your account
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, OR $100 USD.
16. Account Termination
By You
You may close your account at any time via Dashboard > Privacy > Delete Account.
By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, abuse limits, engage in fraud, fail to pay, or create risk for us.
Effect of Termination:
- Your access to the Service ends
- Your data may be deleted (see Privacy Policy)
- Subscription fees are non-refundable, except where required by applicable law
- Surviving provisions remain in effect
Terminated accounts may be added to a blocklist, preventing re-registration.
17. Dispute Resolution
Before filing a legal claim, contact us at [email protected] and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for 30 days.
Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States.
Jurisdiction: Disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California.
