The RTGS Dollar, later renamed the Zimbabwean Dollar (ZWL), was reintroduced in 2019 to replace the multicurrency system. It suffered severe depreciation and was eventually replaced by the Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) in April 2024.
The name 'Zimbabwean Dollar' reflects the country and its currency history.
