关于 Cambodian Riel
The second and current Riel was introduced in 1980 after the Khmer Rouge regime, which had abolished money altogether. The first Riel was issued in 1953 but was replaced during the period of Democratic Kampuchea.
The name 'Riel' is thought to be derived from the Mekong River fish of the same name, or from the Spanish 'real'.
